Fire Emblem
So, I was playing GBA games last night. There are two that are very interesting that I liked.
Summon Night
and
Fire Emblem: Sealed Sword
Now first, Summon Night seems like a ridiculously childish game (and it is... although imo not as stupid as Golden Sun or whatevernot it was called.) If you know Tales of Phantasia, the battle sequence is similar in that style. So far, I haven't been able to actually fight with a party (its just been me and the enemy[ies]) but then again, I just started. If you can indeed gather a party, then it'll be even more like the Tales of Phantasia battle sequence. Basically, the battle is those side scroller kind. The best imo. Turn based can get pretty boring (because I always set to 'wait' while I select items.... :P) but its not completely go out and kill kinda thing. The story so far has been pretty simple and so far, its been pretty linear. Well, not THAT linear... you get to make some important choices along the way (and depending on your answer, you have to do different things, make different friends.... I think.) but once your decision is made, its just go and do it kinda thing. But I find this game very lighthearted and surprisingly addictive (plus, its got such BEAUTIFUL art and cute characters!! There's that one Craftlord that oversees the tournament battles, and he's so hot! XP)
The Second, Fire Emblem Sealed Sword. On the GBA with wonderful graphics. That, of course, is the sequel to Fire Emblem with Elliot, Lynn, and Hector. Thus far, I have not seen Lynn (I wonder if she appears in this game at all...) but I've seen Elliot, Hector, Merlinus, and Marcus thus far from the old crew. Elliot and Hector just look really old. Merlinus has a very very shiny head now (and long hair on the sides.... er...), Marcus has white hair and looks like a grandpa... surprisingly... or not surprisingly, he plays pretty much the same role; as the guy who's with the beginner party and hardly gains any experience points when fighting T_T.
Of course, we can't forget Roy and Lilim (no clue how to spell it). And it appears they've their own party of friends [once again, lots of good looking characters.] Off the top of my head, there's Paulson [Knight], Lancer [Cavalier], Walter [Archer], and another cavalier whose name currently escapes me.
So far, and I've only played the first chapter. It appears that Lilim (Hector's Daughter) is over in Pherae. King Elliot is sick. Roy went somewhere and was on his way back when the bandits attacked the castle and its surrounding villages. And something about Bern invading the League of Lycia, Kingdom of Illia [thru the Sacae]. Of course, the King of Bern is Prince Zephyr. Now King Zephyr. Don't you wish you'd have just left him to die in Fire Emblem?
In the first chapter, Roy and party defeat the bandits who were hiding in the forest. Elliot apologizes to Lilim that this happened while she's in Pherae [I think]. Roy, in order to save father and love, defeats bandits and seizes castle. Elliot [who's sick and coughing] tells his son about Bern's recent movements and asks him to investigate. Lilim goes with him along with his little group of friends. Elliot tells Roy that he's proud of his son becoming such a fine young man.
End of Chapter One.
In case I didn't mention this..... Fire Emblem Sealed Sword GBA has NOT been released in English.... so yes, I was playing the japanese version. And yes, all the dialogue was in japanese, even the names of all the characters [in katakana].
To be honest, it would be soooo much easier to read if there wasn't that much kanji in the text. I guess the game was intended for an older japanese audience (one that already knew how to read the basic kanji....). The good thing is that I recognize the kanji because I know chinese (though I have no idea how to pronounce it properly in japanese, but the idea gets thru. I mean.. the character for 'wood' is wood, however you say it. My hiragana is no problem now, but I did end up checking the katakana chart so I could get all the names right....
Yup, fun fun. Recently, I've been playing games and watching anime on my tv. I bought an s-video cable about two months ago and ever since I got my laptop back from the manufacturers, whenever I get the chance, I watch things on the big screen. I've been playing Zelda 64 again... I'm STILL stuck at the first damn spider boss thing. Its not like I've never beaten it, I have... but every time I do, somehow or another, the game gets deleted (its not the games fault.. things like my desktop frying last summer, and sending my laptop to the manufacturers tend to wipe out the saved files..... *sigh*)
Well, that's it... I'm just procrastinating right now :P

1 Lushes:
1. You already know this but it's Eliwood.
2. That's genius, send the young son to investigate why the giant military power is attacking.
Need I remind the GIANT, MILITARY POWER?!
POWER?!?!?!?!??
I'm going to start editing TCP.
