I've managed to royally screw up once again.
Hello all, its Sunday night. And guess what? My life is once again in turmoil.
How so? Well, here's the breakdown.
In order to be in Co op next term, I had to enroll (through Quest, Waterloo's Rosi equivalent) in a Co op 101 class.... which is really a seminar that lasts about one hour of one day in the beginning of the year. But you have to sign up for it and if it doesn't fit into your schedule (ie, you have other classes when the seminar takes place.... too bad.)
I am one of those cases, where I already have a class in said timeslot. I wanted to switch that class to a different time (the class wasn't even full!) but somehow, Quest won't let me, telling me that I need Departmental Consent... I'm switching from one class to another of the same course..... I didn't need consent the first time, WHY do I need it now?? Well, anyways, I had to drop that class, enroll in Co Op 101. But now I'm a class short, I have to go and try to fix that tomorrow, ie. Monday.
But, this isn't actually the most URGENT thing I have to do. You'd think that missing a course is pretty urgent... but its not. You see, after having enrolled in co op 101, I'm supposed to gain access to the course site and be able to do a few modules on resume writing and interview skills. Can I acces this said site and do the modules? Of course, murphy's law says I cannot. So when do I have to get these modules done by (ie, electronically handed in)? Monday, 11:59 PM. Isn't that tomorrow? Yes it is, how smart of you....
I think I might have mentioned this already, I have no more cash. And I'm running dangerously low on food. Yes, I know I can use my debit and credit cards....but I really try not to. Well, I suppose that isn't a big issue, as long as I have money from SOMEWHERE, its alright.
So tomorrow, here's the line-up:
Go to the registrars office and see if they can fix co op 101.
Ask them if they can enroll me into that other section of that course I dropped. And should I need departmental consent, where do I get it from?
Hand in my health exemption form into the Needle's Hall.
Hand in my residence sign in form.
Try to sell my textbooks for some cash (but that CAN wait till a later date...)
ACTUALLY DO the modules once I have access to them (I'm told that I should save "a couple hours" for doing them.
Work on my portfolio... as I was unable to again today because my information didn't come in... as usual. There's nothing one can do on a Sunday... even if one wanted to.
So why have I left this to the last minute? Well, for once, its actually not exactly my fault.
UW-ACE, UW Email, and Quest are all very iffy for me, it seems like the system always flips a coin in whether they want to work for me or not. So.... the email that was sent telling people that they have to enroll in Co op 101 was lost to me, I found out only about 4 or 5 days ago. Among many other emails that were lost to me, but I won't get into that for now. Well, once I found out, I tried to do it from home, without dropping that course... cuz then a whole bunch of interesting things come up about whether or not I can enroll in it again.... Once I got on campus on friday, I finished unpacking around 5 and by the time I got everything set up with the internet (so i can... you know, ACCESS said above iffy services...) it was quarter to 6 PM. And of course, office hours are ONLY until 4 PM. Then comes Saturday, and Sunday, where nothing works.
I've emailed Lynn, who's doing the conference stuff, I've emailed UW-ACE staff, and I've emailed Quest... of course, Id much rather speak to them in person. But for now, that'll have to do. Of course, since its the weekend, I didn't really expect a response back. But if things don't get fixed by tomorrow afternoon, I doubt I'll even have TIME to finish everything in the module...... So, office opens at 8:30.... I'll be there.
Now, its 9:30. I'm hungry. I think I'm going to go out and eat. Maybe.... don't know. We'll see.
OH yeah, and its been raining all weekend, which sucks because an umbrella was one of the few things I didn't bring.
I'm dead.

3 Lushes:
With a name like "Quest" it was bound to fail.
And it's spelled "ROSI."
And in case you are, you should not forward your e-mails from your UW e-mail service to gmail or hotmail or something.
