Something's wrong with me....
Seriously, something is extremely wrong with me. And I'm not referring to the lump in my throat this time... I'm talking about something else. See, the thing is, I found myself to be very forgetful recently... like, really forgetful. I would remember to do something, but then, end up forgetting to do it. For example today. I was to hand in a math assignment. I finished it bright and early and everything. However, when I packed my bags to go to school, I distinctly put the math binder in my drawer because I didn't have math today.... what the hell? So when 12 Oclock came around and it was time to hand in the math homework...I didn't have it with me T_T. Stupid... there goes 0.8% of my final mark T_T.
And that's not the first time something like this happened either. Not just with math homework... forgetting things at home, or say... forgetting to eat something that's been rotting away in the fridge (obviously... forgetting to eat it before it rotted) and things like that.... seriously, I didn't used to be this forgetful... perhaps its because now I have more responsibilities that little things go out of order and that bothers me quite a bit T_T. There are so many more problems to deal with and I seem to get quite lost in all of it.
Recently, I've also found that I have a very bad grasp of time, unlike high school, where I was firm in everything I did and knew exactly what to do. Here, I'm lost half the time and overwhelmed as to how I will finish everything. You see, the thing is... tonite at 7, I have a mid term exam and I think the whole studying for a midterm has caused my head to be messed with the math homework stuff.... there's just too much to do and not a good way to plan things.... for example. My responsibilties currently is to finish studying for that midterm tonite, then after the midterm, study for the test that I have tomorrow. Aside from that, I have to remember to go to the bank and pay my bills, deposit some money, and go to the student awards office and ask when my scholarship will be disbursed.
Housewise, I have to do the laundry, cook for myself (which includes remembering to eat certain foods that are going to expire soon), taking down the recylcing stuff, clear garbage cans, sweep the floors.
academically, I have to read a few chapters for each class that I have been neglecting because of studying for this midterm, which is like worth 25% of my final mark and the other test tomorrow which is like 26% of my final mark. yeah.. read those chapters, read about like 10 assigned articles, plus, there's this business strategy game taht I have to play in teams and there's a discussion forum that I have to participate in (for marks of course... its mandatory) and not to mention there's something personal going on where I believe I better resolve things fast, or I've just made a new enemy without even trying (details on that can be found out by asking me directly.. and no, its not my roomates). You know... just because I'm so forgetful... I bet I forgot something pretty important in taht list I made above T_T.....
So... now my question is for you.... remember our exams in high school? Remember those things that were worth 20-30% of your final mark? Now let me ask you... when, if ever, have you ever had SO many other things to worry about while having to study and do two tests/midterms/exams worth 20-30% of your mark? I hope the answer is never... because it is for me and I'm really really overwhelmed..... don't forget I have quite a bit of pressure coming from above too... in the sense that, if I don't maintain an 80%+ average... bye bye scholarship and hello public embarrassment because it will be announced that blah blah blah's continuin scholarship has be revoked and is up for anyone to claim...so hand in those applications for this vacated spot~! ARGGHHH
Yeah.... that's my story... I have no idea how I'm going to manage things... I need a systematic way of planning things T_T.... help ~!

2 Lushes:
Wow, u blogged twice in a row and I haven't even read either of them! Well, I read the one I'm commenting to, so now I have to read the other one to catch up. Brb.
Okay, I have one word (repeated multiple times) for you.
Idiot.
Idiot.
Idiot.
There, I said it. You're becoming more forgetful because you haven't been sleeping well enough and because the stress is getting to you.
The stress has been getting to you because of the overwhelming idea that all the tests that you must do are worth a chunk of your final mark.
What you do need to do is the following (And I'm totally serious):
1. Calm down.
2. Concentrate on what you're doing presently, and not worry about other things at the same time (NO MULTI-TASKING!)
3. Work through your workload.
And that's mostly it, honestly, I've been forgetful since grade 11 (trust me, I have) but don't let the little things bother you (which apparently they don't?), worrying never gets anyone anywhere.

Pretty good advice from Steven, but I have something to add.
Develop a routine (here I go being hypocritical)! Seriously! It can really help. Throw out garbage at 9 am. Eat at 10 am. Do Math at 11 am. Go to bank at 12 pm. If you have a routine you are less likely to forget what you need to do. But make sure to follow it... or else it isn't a routine.
Also, leave some time to think. Just go over in your head every subject that you have, and wheter you need to do something for it. Just sit for a few minutes and think about it. If there is anything important write it down. This is something I actually do. Usually you only need to write down the most important things.
I think Steven covered the stress and calming down part pretty well.
And don't worry. We are all forgetful. It is the human condition. So is procrastination... And a bunch of others.
Poka!
